Julia Skyba is a visual artist, whose artwork depicts feelings of warmth, nostalgia, love and family. Her paintings are often done on the vibrantly sunny porch of her house in Toronto where she lives with her family.

Julia works in a wide variety of media ranging from traditional oils and pastels and others to cutting edge digital media. She loves to experiment with new things and mixing media.

Since childhood she was interested in art.  From an early age she would recreate illustrations from children’s books moving to the old masters as a teenager.  After moving to Canada, she was able to grow as an artist studying art in  studio, drawing life nude models and taking drawing classes.

For many years she worked with colored pastels and acrylics because she enjoyed that it allowed high speed and expense.  She has since moved onto oil on canvas because she enjoys the prestige that of oils provides.  Using digital media she combines different elements of images for ideas and the experiments with colour.

Julia participated in the 2006, in art show “Night of the Artist”, where one of her painting was sold in a local art auction and became a part of ‘photo mural’ entitled “Wildlife Ark”:
